The Caracas Leones defeated the Chicago Rastafarians in 13 innings by a score
of 5 to 2 at Minute Maid Field.

The score was tied at 2 after nine.  Caracas came out on top in the 13th
inning.  After two were out Michael Tucker began the rally when he lined a
single.  Placido Polanco was next and he drew a walk.  Omar Vizquel then
stroked a one-base hit driving in a run.  Vizquel took second on the throw.
J.T. Snow came up and he was walked intentionally to load the bases.  A balk
was called plating another run.  Bill Mueller continued the rally and drew a
walk to load the bases.  Steve Finley came next and he laced a single scoring
the final run of the inning.  Caracas finished with 11 hits in the victory.

Scot Shields(4-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 3 innings and allowing
no runs. Billy Wagner recorded the save, his 13th.  Brad Lidge(3-2) ended up
with the loss in relief.  His ERA increased from 3.51 to 3.99 as he allowed 3
runs in 3 and 2/3 innings.  

With this win, Caracas has a 29-21 record. They have been 7-3 lately.  With
the loss, Chicago has a record of 6-4 lately, 29-21 overall.
